Beyond inspiration
I have always been mesmerised by the magic that lived under the special powers of a magnifying glass, the beauty of the tiniest things. The ones that you have to slow down to notice. The business of an anthill, the fragrant mass of sawdust and the beautiful curls of the wood chips from the heap under the workbench. The things that I could only witness when I crawled underneath.
Being enchanted by the summer light in the leaves was always a pleasure, but moss was more intriguing. I could explore it, touch it, smell it, examine it from up close to see what was hiding from me under these green, soft cushions. There was a real mystery there. The layers of different shades of sand, moist and fragrant black soil, roots, and mycelial filaments. The vivid memory of the stillness of the forest is still with me. The amazement of the height of the trees and the feeling of safety under the green susurrating roof.
The connection to the intricate details of the natural world is where my work is truly rooted. It inspires me to capture the unseen beauty and quiet mysteries that often go unnoticed. Through my work, I aim to share this sense of wonder, inviting others to slow down and explore the enchanting details that surround us.
